About Me

Hello!  My name is Adam Becker.  I am a graduate of the University of Texas @ Dallas ATEC program with a degree in Level Design.

Games have been a part of my life since I was very little.  Even from those days, I was interested in the design and creation of games.  My first step in any kind of creation was the Scenario Editor in Age of Empires II.  I had no idea of what made a good map, only what I knew was fun.  

I believe that the Level Design of a game is the second most important part of what makes a game fun.  The first is the mechanics of the game.  Level Design only comes second because the mechanics are needed to create an effective design.  The Level Design of a game has two primary functions.  The first is to design a space where the player can interact fluidly with the mechanics and enviroment in a meaningful way.  The second is to create a space where the player feels like they are in a space that could exist within the rules of the world inside the game.
